Middlebury College was founded in 1800 and was the very first university in Vermont. Over their 200 + year history the college lacked a mascot logo and needed to make up for lost time. A new, pseudo vintage, Middlebury Panthers mascot logo was created to retroactively fill that void in the school’s history. The mascot was designed to feel as if it had been a part of the school since the mid 1900s and is now used as part of the universities branding, apparel and for team sports.
